COLD Tire Inflation Pressure

Another question I get asked frequently is what does COLD tire inflation pressure mean? ... This means that you should only check
and adjust the tire pressure when the tires are COLD, before you
travel more than a mile. When a tire gets hot the air pressure
expands resulting in a false (higher) reading. If you let air
out of a hot tire it will be underinflated when it is COLD. You
should try and get in a habit of checking the tire pressure,
with a quality inflation pressure guage, every travel day. Do not
exceed the recommended COLD tire inflation pressure.
