We've had the TV on only once in nearly four months of travel since we left Montana. We read primarily or play cards. During the day, we love to hike and explore the outdoors. TV is not for us!

We camp a lot in the National Forests with NO hook ups. So no TV! Yea! When we go to the camps with hookups, we do bring the tv and usually only watch it if its really raining or everyone is just beat from being outside all day

We recently bought an RV with an automatic Satellite Dish. It seems a waste to leave it there unused. We are toying with the idea of the new "Pay as You Go' Service from Dish. Altho, I don't really see us watching much TV with all there is to do while out enjoying the RV. Maybe when we cross country it might make more sense.

I'm not sure why I tend to think I don't really watch the TV while camping, I do watch it some. While I usually prefer to be out exploring, or kicking back reading my Kindle or an RV magazine, I often find some time here and there to watch a little TV. Usually some news or maybe a movie.

Camping is all about fun. If watching a bit of TV is fun, do it.

I don't think those who never watch TV are any better than me, though they are likely less informed. TV can be both a tool and a diversion, just like everything else we do when relaxing. Enjoy it in moderation.

TV in the wilderness is just as good as any place. An inverter and satellite make it possible. Of course I prefer to be out and about. But it does rain and still gets too dark and cold many nights.

Of course I'm very careful to make sure no one in the area can hear it. When I don't watch TV, the last thing I want to hear is it droning on in the distance. It kills the ambiance.

I would like to Echo the thoughts of Kodiak, as the weather channel can be a savior...
