Of course our propane is on! How else would the refrigerator work? Have done it always...my dad did it too. Haven't eve had an issue with it.

I do travel with my propane turned on but if I need to stop for fuel I turn them off while fueling.

In California it is against the law for good reason. In case of an accident or fire there can be an explosion. I put frozen containers in my refrigerator and they work just fine.

My propane is automatically turned ON when it is accessed by the furnace or oven or the refrigerator or the water heater.
